"There are days when solitude is a heady wine that intoxicates you with freedom, others when it is a bitter tonic, and still others when it is a poison that makes you beat your head against the wall."

Hong Kong In the Foot-Marks, 1959-60 by Ed van der Elsken
I love vintage Hong Kong and cheongsam dresses, such wonderful street fashion.

Veiny hands like this are gorgeous, the cheap looking watch kind of ruins the picture, though.

A word that does not exist in the English language:
Ya’aburnee
Arabic – Both morbid and beautiful at once, this incantatory word means “You bury me,” a declaration of one’s hope that they’ll die before another person because of how difficult it would be to live without them.
I’m really hoping that if I die before my husband, I don’t want to go through the experience of losing someone so special, and I certainly do not want to spend the final years of my life being a lonely old woman that nobody cares about or needs. The chances of re-marrying or finding love again are minimal when you’re old and wrinkly. :<

This is how I spent my day today (besides sleeping). And it is not okay. I have many other things to do with my life, but the internet (particularly you, tumblr) actively prevents me from doing any of them. That’s why I am going to make tomorrow the official No Internet Day, so that I can finally get things done without any distractions.
Wish me luck ! :<
